SYMPTOMS OF MEASLES:
- High Temperature
- Runny nose
- Cough and sneezing
- Red.watery eyes.
- White spot inside the mouth. 2-3 days after other symptoms begin.
- Red rashes appearing 3-5 days after symptoms begin.
PREVENTION:
1. Wash your hands frequently.
2. Stay home when sick.
3. Cover your nose and mouth when coughing /sneezing.
4. Get the MMR vaccine.
5. Avoid sharing food, water and other things contaminated by saliva.
6. If you are infected, isolate at home for at least 4 days
7. Avoid contact with people who are vulnerable to the infection.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU SUSPECT MEASLES?
- Keep children home from school until 4 days after rash appears.

- Measles spreads through the air when an infected person coughs/ sneezes. It can remain in the air for 2 hours.
- Measles can be dangerous specially for babies and young children.
- About 1 out of 5 people who get Measles will be hospitalized.
- 1 out of every 1000 people with Measles develop Brain swelling due to infection, which may lead to Brain damage.
- 1-3 out of 1000 people with Measles could die, even the best care.
